Basketball Season
I play for Carroll's JV basketball team. Basketball is one a sport I love to play, and could play it all day. As a matter of fact, during AAU tournaments that's all we did. We would play anywhere from three to five games on one day. Most tournaments were two days long as well. However, since traveling basketball is a thing in my past now, I am focusing on high school ball. One thing that is a huge difference is that we only play once a night. Another would be the game speed. Obviously, now that we are a little older the game seems to be played faster, but it's a huge jump.Right now, Our Jv team has a pretty good record. We lost our first two game to Kuemper and Ballard, but since then we've won eight or so games in a row. We are progressing as a team as well as individual players. Mr. Tigges is our coach and he has pointed out things we have improved on over the course of the year. I really like Tigges as our coach, because he is very knowledgeable on the game of basketball. He knows how to do certain things based on our ability on the court. He takes a lot of time and effort in coaching us, and I believe that he has a lot of fun doing it. He always stands up for us as a team and when things get a little out of hand with the away crowd or refs. He expects my dad, a state wrestler, to protect him when things do get sticky. That's a little joke Coach Tigges and I have with each other after an away game against Perry (Ask for details if you want to know what happened). One thing is for sure is that I have really enjoyed this year, and hope it doesn't ever end.

The Wild Weather
I heard that we were going to have a long, cold winter this year. However, I have failed to see the signs. It's currently January, and it's forty sometimes even fifty degrees. I have been taking advantage of this weather by going discing with my friends. If you would of told me back in July that I would be discing during January, I would think you belong in a mental ward. However, this weather seems to shoot the logic of the January weather, but i'm not complaining. Just a little shocked. This past weekend, I went discing with Jon Dvorak, Kacy Snyder, and Nate O'brien for hours at a time. The weather was chill, but very manageable. It almost felt like it was still late Fall rather than the heart of Winter. That was until Jon threw a good amount of his disc into the crick. He had to go get them, and it was clear that the water was freezing cold. Jon didn't enjoy having to get his disc, but the rest of us thought it was pretty funny. We had so many weird and ironic things happen the past few weeks while discing. That's why i'm glad this weather is acting weird in the best possible way. It's always nice when you get to go have fun with your friends, and not have the climate affect anything.
